Riff Stash is an iOS app based workspace for capturing riffs, song ideas, chord shapes, notes, drawings, images, and audio recordings in one place.

The menu buttons at the top of the screen allow you to add a new collection, search your ideas by title or content (notes/lyrics etc.), see your iCloud sync status and open the app settings.

A collection can hold many ideas.

When creating a new collection, long tap on it to change its name.

Idea listings

Inside each collection folder is a list of all the ideas within.
Use the big red + button to add a new idea. The default name is date and time.
The sort button to the left of the title allows you to sort them manually, by the # of recordings, alphabetically by or by creation date.
Use the change folder icon to move the idea to another collection.
The icons for each idea listed is explained in the image below.

Creating an idea
In the Audio Drawer you can:
The Audio Drawer will close whilst your audio is playing, unless you tap to open it.
Add a capo if needed, using the capo icon in the sheet menu. Select the fret and strings affected. Partial capos are supported, multiple capos are not, currently.
Select the fret you want and tap any string left open for an partial capo. Multiple capos are not supported.
Tap done and the capo will be added to the empty grids.
Unlock the grid in the sheet menu to add a chord layout. Tap a grid to enter the edit focus.
Tap a string to place a dot. Open strings have dots too, an open string with no dot is assumed to be open.
Black dots are permanent fingerings, black dots with red centres are temporary expressions. Red dots are final or transient markings.
Tap an existing dot to cycle the dot types.
Open streing dots are temporary, final or muted.
Open strings can be used with capos in place too.
Long pressing between frets will offer an option to place a barre chord or fret position. Select the relevant fret you want to barre or where you want to place your chord.
